The Good News Home for Women is a short and long-term residential rehabilitation center for women who want to overcome the life-destroying effects of alcohol and other drug addictions. The on-going process of recovery and growth is achieved at the Home through a comprehensive non-denominational, but spiritually focused program with a holistic approach of healing to the mind, body and spirit.
Most of our clients are indigent and unable to pay for their treatment costs. We rely heavily on charitable donations and our fundraising activities to offset expenses related to our residents’ room and board, medical/dental needs, food, supplies, counseling, case management, transportation, family support, life skills education and classroom instruction of numerous pertinent topics such as boundaries, relationships, co-dependency, health, etc.
In order to make our Counseling/Learning Center 100% handicapped accessible, we were blessed with a grant to renovate the unfinished first floor portion of the building. The process has begun and we anticipate completion approximately July of 2015. Once the project has been completed, we will need monetary support or in-kind donations to obtain desks, chairs, filing cabinets, conference tables and chairs, Flat Screen TV, etc.
