Family Promise of Hunterdon County began as a volunteer-driven homeless shelter 20+ years ago. Since that time, we have expanded our programs to include homeless prevention and programs to meet the unique needs of low-income residents of Hunterdon County for whom housing affordability is an ongoing issue. With a combination of increased housing costs, stagnant wages, and reduced hours, the need for our agency is critical.
Thanks to a volunteer network and $500,000+ in in-kind donations, we are able to keep costs extremely low. However, the need is great and it is increasing. We need your help so that we can respond to more housing needs.
There is an ongoing need for full-size toiletries, OTC medications and personal care items (many are not food stamp-eligible). For clients to work, they must have a car so we are always in need of car donations and car repair services.
